TERMS
Terms and conditions of use
Last updated: 19 July 2026 Β· Version 1.0
Written to be understood, but a complete legal document all the same: it explains what the app is, exactly what it does, what it doesn't do, and what you take on by using it.
1. Identification and acceptance
ZodHub Pulse ("the app" or "the software") is a program developed and distributed by ZodHub ("we", "us"), reachable at info@zodhub.com, with a public repository at github.com/zodhub-app/clean.
By downloading, installing, running or using the app you fully accept these terms, which form a binding agreement between you ("the user") and ZodHub. If you disagree with any clause, the remedy is simple: don't install the app, or uninstall it. We also recommend reading the privacy policy, which forms part of this agreement.
If you install the app on a company's or organisation's machines, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf and that you have permission from whoever administers those systems.
2. What ZodHub Pulse is
The app is a maintenance and cleaning utility for personal computers running macOS and Windows. Its purpose is to give you visibility into what is taking up space on your machine and how it is performing, and to let you remove whatever you decide is surplus.
It runs entirely locally: scans execute on your device and neither your files nor the results are transmitted to any server. It requires no registration, no user account and no permanent internet connection to operate.
The software is provided free of charge. There is no paid tier, no features behind a wall, no advertising and no device limit.
3. What each module does
So you know exactly what you're allowing, here is what the app does, section by section. Features marked as exclusive to one system do not appear on the others.
Home: shows real-time CPU, memory, disk and network usage, temperatures from available sensors and the heaviest processes. Read-only; it changes nothing.
Free up space: finds accumulated junk β caches, temporary files, leftovers from development tools, Docker images and containers, the bin β and lets you delete whatever you select.
Storage: breaks down what fills the disk by volume and area, with a usage history. Read-only.
Explorer: walks folders computing their real size to find the heaviest items, and lets you move things to the bin or reveal them in the system file manager.
Duplicates: compares files by their content (cryptographic fingerprint), not by name, and groups the repeats so you can remove whichever copies you choose.
Applications: lists installed programs with their size, finds the files they leave behind and lets you uninstall them. On Windows it invokes the program's own official uninstaller.
Memory: details RAM and swap usage and offers a purge of inactive memory. "Memory pressure" is an approximation and is labelled as such in the interface.
Snapshots (macOS only): lists local Time Machine copies and lets you thin them using the system's own tools.
.DS_Store (macOS only): compresses folders without those hidden files and sweeps them away.
Tasks: schedules periodic maintenance using the operating system's own scheduler (launchd on macOS, Task Scheduler on Windows).
Your space: project news, voluntary newsletter sign-up, a support link and the legal texts.
4. What the app is NOT
This section matters as much as the previous one. The app is not:
An antivirus or a security tool. It does not detect or remove malware, does not scan for threats and does not replace a security solution. Keep using whatever antivirus applies.
A data recovery program. It does not recover deleted files, neither its own nor those of other programs.
A repair tool. It does not fix hardware faults, damaged disks, corrupted systems or operating-system problems.
A miracle accelerator. Freeing space and purging memory may improve how the machine feels, but we guarantee no specific or measurable performance gain.
A substitute for your backups. It is precisely the opposite: it requires you to have them.
Any claim to the contrary you find on download sites, comparison articles or third-party advertising does not come from us and does not bind us. Always download from this website or from the official repository.
5. Requirements and availability
The app requires a supported operating system in a reasonably current version. Some features depend on the system's own utilities; where these are unavailable, the feature is hidden or explains why, but never fakes a result.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the website, the downloads or the update service, all of which depend on external providers. We may suspend them temporarily for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control.
6. Licence to use
We grant you a personal, free, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the app on as many devices as you like, for personal or professional purposes, for as long as these terms are in force.
The software, its code, design, brand and contents are the property of ZodHub and are protected by intellectual and industrial property law. This licence gives you the right to use the app; it does not transfer ownership or any other right not expressly stated here.
The source code is publicly viewable for transparency, so anyone can verify what the program does. That does not make it free software and implies no assignment of exploitation rights. The full conditions are in the licence file, which prevails over this section in case of discrepancy.
7. Prohibited uses
Except with our written authorisation, or to the extent the law mandatorily allows it, you undertake not to:
Redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense or publish the app, in whole or in part, including on third-party download portals.
Create derivative works, modify the software or rebrand it under another name.
Remove or obscure copyright, licence or authorship notices.
Use the app to access, alter or delete data on machines you are not authorised to touch.
Use it for unlawful purposes or in ways that harm third parties or the project's reputation.
Distribute altered versions that could pass for the official one.
8. Your responsibility
This is the most important part of the document. The app is a tool: it shows you what it found and executes what you order. The decision about what gets deleted is always yours β and so are the consequences.
Deletion is irreversible. Once the bin is emptied or an item is permanently removed, that file does not come back. Before confirming, review your selection: if you don't recognise something, leave it.
In particular, by using the app you accept that:
You keep current backups of everything that matters to you, verified and on separate media. No cleaning tool replaces a backup.
You review what you select before confirming each operation, and understand what each ticked item is.
You understand the effect of clearing caches: some programs may start more slowly next time, sign you out or lose temporary preferences. That is normal behaviour, not a fault.
You control administrator permissions. Certain operations request them; they are asked for only when the action genuinely needs them, and you may refuse. By granting them you expressly authorise that specific operation.
You are responsible for the scheduled tasks you enable: they run unattended, with whatever configuration you left.
You are authorised on the machine where you use it and comply with your organisation's policies if it is a corporate or managed device.
9. Provided "as is", without warranty
The app is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, absence of errors and non-infringement are excluded.
We do not warrant that the software will run uninterrupted or error-free, that it is compatible with any hardware or software configuration, that it correctly identifies every disposable item, or that it will free any given amount of space. The sizes, estimates and classifications it displays are indicative.
You use the app at your own risk and responsibility.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ZodHub shall not be liable for:
The loss, deletion or corruption of data, files or settings, whatever the cause.
Indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages.
Loss of profit, business, opportunity, reputation or time.
Disruption to other programs or to the operating system following a cleanup.
The cost of recovering or reinstalling data or programs.
Since the app is supplied free of charge and without consideration, our total aggregate liability, if any, shall in all cases be limited to the amount you paid us for the software, which is zero.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded: in particular, liability arising from wilful misconduct, gross negligence, fraud, or death or personal injury. If you are a consumer, these limitations apply only as far as consumer law permits, and your statutory rights remain intact.
11. Indemnity
You agree to hold us harmless against any third-party claim arising from your use of the app in breach of these terms or of the law, including reasonable defence costs.
12. Updates and changes to the software
The app periodically checks whether a new version exists and notifies you; installing is always your decision. You can turn automatic checking off in the settings and update manually.
Updates may add, change or remove features. We may also stop maintaining or distributing the app, in whole or for a particular operating system, without this giving rise to any right to compensation. Copies already installed will keep working for as long as your system allows.
13. Third-party software
The app incorporates third-party open-source components, each under its own licence (mostly MIT and Apache-2.0), whose notices are collected in the project repository. Those components are governed by their respective licences and their authors give no warranty over them.
14. Donations
Donations are voluntary and altruistic. They do not constitute the purchase of a product or service, grant no additional features, priority support, influence over development or any consideration whatsoever, and are non-refundable, except in the event of a manifest billing error.
They are processed through external payment platforms, also subject to their own terms and policies. We have no access to your payment details.
15. Personal data
Data processing is described in the privacy policy. In short: the app sends no information about your device, carries no telemetry, and the only data we may ever hold about you is the name and email you voluntarily provide when subscribing to the news.
16. Term and termination
This licence is in force for as long as you use the app. You may end it at any time by uninstalling. We may revoke it if you materially breach these terms, in which case you must stop using the software and uninstall it. Clauses that by their nature should survive β intellectual property, warranties, liability, governing law β remain in force after termination.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the app or in the law. The date and version in the header identify the text in force, and material changes will be noted in the release notes. Continuing to use the app after a new version is published constitutes acceptance; if you do not accept it, uninstall the app.
18. Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by Spanish law. For any dispute, the parties submit to the courts having jurisdiction under the law.
If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings before the courts of your place of residence and the protection granted by the mandatory rules of your country. You may address any complaint to info@zodhub.com; we will try to resolve it amicably.
19. Severability
If a court declares any clause void, invalid or unenforceable, it will be replaced by a valid one of equivalent effect and the rest of the document will remain fully in force.
20. Contact
For any question about these terms, or to request permissions not covered here: info@zodhub.com, or through the repository issues.
